Jessy surveyed the area. There were police all over. The police had shut down most of the events, while some journalists stayed back. She called Amber again as she walked. No one responded. She felt like the walls were closing in around her. She felt panicked, just as she did when she heard the news. She needed to leave. She had to find Amber quickly.
Her mind and heart were racing. She felt trapped and found it difficult to breathe. How did it get so messy? She needed to find Amber and get out of there before it was too much. She searched more desperately among the crowd in hopes of finding Amber. She was in a hurry and wanted to leave. Amber was nowhere to be seen. Will she be able to find Amber in this crowd of people? When she was close to the vet’s office, Jessy noticed something that made her stomach turn upside down ….
