Drug Fever
Introducing a new medication can occasionally cause fever. People who develop a fever after commencing a new medication and have ruled out all other causes may have drug fever. The fever can develop shortly after starting the medication and should subside once the drug is discontinued. Beta-lactam antibiotics and diphenyhydantoin are among the pharmaceuticals responsible for the fever.
