COMT Inhibitors
Levodopa’s effect is prolonged by COMT inhibitors. COMT inhibitors include Tolcapone, Entacapone, and others. Ectacapone has almost no side effects, while tolcapone can cause liver damage. Tolcapone is only prescribed by doctors when other medications are not working.
