What Is Nephropathy?

Surgical procedure to remove extremely massive kidney stones.

Percutaneous nephrolithotomy entails the surgical removal of a kidney stone through a tiny incision in the back of the patient using small instruments and telescopes. A patient will receive general anaesthesia for the surgical procedure and may spend one or two days recovering in the hospital. If ESWL fails to be effective for a patient, the doctor may recommend surgery.
