Biopsy Percutaneously
The most common form of biopsy is the percutaneous biopsy, in which the physician inserts a thin, hollow tube into the patient’s back or abdomen through a small incision in order to obtain minute samples of kidney tissue. During a percutaneous biopsy, the physician does not administer anaesthesia; therefore, you can remain cognizant during the procedure. However, the physician will apply a numbing cream to the incision site to alleviate any discomfort.
