Hemochromatosis
Hemochromatosis, a common inherited condition that leads to excessive iron accumulation in the liver. It can eventually lead to cirrhosis and debilitated capacity of the liver. Phlebotomy, or the removal of blood to treat the disease and identify the condition (for iron-carrying protein), can help to prevent these complications.
