Testing a tissue test
The removal of a sample of tissue (biopsy), from your liver, can help diagnose liver disease. It may also be used to look for signs and symptoms of liver damage. The most common way to perform a liver biopsy is to insert a needle through the skin and remove a sample of tissue that will be sent to a laboratory for testing.
