Stage 3 (Liver Cirrhosis).
If you do not treat the fibrosis you may be at risk of the next stage, cirrhosis. This is a severe scarring of your liver. The liver is unable to recover itself at this stage. Cirrhosis can take 20-30 years to develop. Tragically, it is at this time that people begin to see liver disease because the symptoms are more obvious. Cirrhosis is a serious condition that can lead to many complications.
Some of the confusions and side effects include: fatigue, or feeling tired, shortcoming, tingling, loss of appetite, weight reduction, nausea, swelling in the midsection from ascites (a liquid buildup), edema, or swelling due to a liquid buildup, in the legs, feet, or lower legs; spider-like veins on the skin, called insectangiomas; and jaundice.
Cirrhosis may lead to liver disease and other complications. Treatment for cirrhosis involves controlling the progression of scarring, and treating any complications and side effects caused by cirrhosis.
