The tendency to bruise easily
Ecchymosis or bruises are caused by the accumulation of blood and small blood vessels under the skin. The skin will also turn bluish. If you bruise easily, it could be a sign that your clotting factor is not working correctly or the liver is producing less clotting factor. Factors 2, 5, 7 and 10 are the most important clotting factor that plays a significant role in the formation a blood clot. The liver produces all of these clotting factors, so any damage to the organ will lead to a decrease in production.
In addition to the liver, clots are also formed by healthy bone marrow. Delay in clot formation can also be caused by certain inherited disorders, such as hemophilia or thalassemia. If you bruise easily, and if it’s accompanied by the other symptoms and signs of liver disease, this could indicate a serious condition.
