What Is Intolerance to Lactose? Causes, Symptoms, Diagnosis, Types, Risk Factors, Dietary Recommendations, and Dietary Prohibitions

Lactase deficiency that develops

In some cases of premature birth, the baby’s small intestine is unable to fully secrete lactase, resulting in lactase deficiency at birth. However, as they mature, they develop the ability to secrete lactase. This is referred to as a lactase deficiency in development.

To establish a diagnosis and treatment plan to prevent further complications, it is necessary to understand the underlying cause of the condition. For the purpose of gaining a deeper understanding of the molecular workings of lactose intolerance, additional research must be performed.
