What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)? How Does Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Work?

Interoceptive exposure

This technique can treat panic and anxiety. This technique is used to evoke fear by exposing the person to bodily sensations they are afraid of. This action can activate unhelpful beliefs about the sensations, maintain the sensations without interruption or avoidance, and allow for new learning.

It is meant to help the sufferer understand that panic attacks are not dangerous even though they may be uncomfortable.
