Conducting Behavioral Experiments
In a behavioral study, clients are asked to make a prediction about the outcome of upcoming anxiety-provoking tasks. You discuss the accuracy of the prediction after the client has completed the task. After a series behavioral experiments, people often discover that the disaster they first imagined is unlikely. Behavioral experiments are often effective in reducing anxiety.
Systematically Desensitizing
Desensitization is a combination of relaxation and exposure to stressful situations. Clients are taught how to remain relaxed in anxious situations.
