Ultrafine Needling

Using microneedling to treat acne scarring. This treatment utilizes a dermaroller. A dermaroller is comprised of extremely fine needles to stimulate collagen production by penetrating the epidermis. Collagen is a protein that strengthens the epidermis and heals acne scars. The dermaroller’s incisions also aid in the absorption of creams and serums into the epidermis. Microneedling is a slow procedure, and acne scars require time to recover. As a precaution, the dermaroller should always be sterilized with an antiseptic, as it has the potential to disseminate acne-causing bacteria across the face.
