Keloid wounds

A keloid scar is a form of hypertrophic scar, but it is elevated. Occasionally, the excessive production of connective tissues results in a raised scar that covers a larger area than the original injury. These lesions are itchy and painful. These lesions cannot be treated without the assistance of a dermatologist and do not fade with time.
