Hypertrophic wounds
Due to an increase in the production of connective tissues, these types of scars develop when the cells expand beyond their normal dimensions. The increased production of connective tissue results in elevated, extensive, and thickened scarring. Scars that are hypertrophic can resolve without treatment because they flatten over time.
