Candida yeast
The primary cause of fungal acne is yeast. It causes infection by proliferating within the hair follicles. The yeast feeds on sebum produced by sebaceous glands and multiplies, causing irritation and inflammation. Diabetes, tension and fatigue, oily skin, and humidity can all contribute to yeast growth.
