Cryosurgery
This procedure is commonly used to treat actinic keratoses. The dermatologist administers liquid nitrogen to the growth using a spray device. This procedure stops the proliferation of tissue without the need for a cut.
The lesions or frozen skin may eventually rupture, form a crust, and fall off. Moreover, transient erythema may occur. Cryosurgery is beneficial in the treatment of superficial basal cell carcinomas and SCC.
