Target Therapy
Target therapy is designed to target specific targets, such as cancer cell receptors or proteins. Target therapy aims to halt or slow the growth of cancer cells by attacking the genetic characteristics of cells that regulate the division of cancer cells.
Target therapies include monoclonal antibodies, small-molecule drugs, and hormone therapy. Target therapy is used to treat melanoma and other skin cancers that are not melanoma, such as uncommon cases of advanced basal cell carcinoma.
Target therapy medications are administered based on clinical considerations and individual preferences. They can be administered orally, intravenously, or by infusion.
