Age
Age is another risk factor for developing skin cancer. The longer you live, the more sun exposure you will receive, resulting in greater skin injury. Age increases the likelihood of developing SCC and BCC. In the past few decades, the incidence of basal cell carcinoma has increased while its progression has decreased. Dermatologists have reported that SCC and BCC are treated in 20- to 30-year-olds with increased sun exposure and indoor tanning.
