Planning in an illusory manner
The caregivers or loved ones of a patient with bipolar disorder have a difficult time coping with the situation, as the patient’s periods of ambiguity last for an extended period of time. The manic phase of bipolar disorder induces a feeling of invulnerability and encourages patients to engage in reckless behavior. Bipolar disorder impairs an individual’s capacity for rational thought, resulting in thrill-seeking behavior and exaggerated planning.
