Lacking concentration
Bipolar disorder affects a person’s cognitive abilities, memory, and attention span. Certain individuals with bipolar disorder are more likely to feel distracted and unable to concentrate for extended periods of time. Bipolar disorder patients’ inability to concentrate hinders their ability to function optimally in daily life, causing difficulties in school or at work. Bipolar disorder is also associated with a reduction of gray matter in the brain, which impairs cognitive and information-processing abilities, thereby causing a lack of concentration.
