Eye Surgeries
Cataracts may occur after different eye surgeries, such as a corneal transplant. A survey found that 76% of patients develop cataracts after corneal transplant. Most people do not develop cataracts after glaucoma surgeries, but certain medications or procedures can cause the formation of cataracts. Sometimes cataracts can return after cataract surgery. These secondary cataracts are known as secondary cataracts. Secondary cataracts occur when the lens that was left after surgery gets cloudy. Secondary cataract affects nearly 30% of the population.
