Slit Lamp Exam
The slit-lamp examination is used to diagnose cataracts and determine the damage to vision caused by cataracts. This procedure is performed using a microscope called a Slit Lamp. The patient’s eye is wide open while he rests his chin against the chinrest. A powerful beam of light is then passed through the cornea to get a better view of the different parts of the eyes. The doctor will determine the type of cataract and its extent.
The disadvantages of the slit-lamp test
