Regarding Weight And Health
A person’s weight is a direct indicator of their overall health. Maintaining a healthy weight may be challenging, but it has numerous benefits over being overweight or underweight. A healthy and nutrient-dense diet is a key factor in weight and health. Physically, socially, and economically fit individuals can work to their maximum capacity.
A person who is overweight, on the other hand, has a poor quality of life; it is a pernicious cycle in which weight impedes physical activity and physical inactivity can lead to further weight gain. Being overweight puts a man at risk for numerous health problems. The human heart must work harder, resulting in complications such as elevated blood pressure and an increase in cholesterol levels, which simultaneously makes the body more susceptible to diabetes and other problems. Various forms of cancer, such as breast cancer and colon cancer, gallbladder disease, strokes, breathing problems, and osteoarthritis, which affects the body’s joints, are also prevalent in obese individuals. Obese patients also develop significant mental health issues, such as anxiety, melancholy, and other health problems. Therefore, weight loss is a common goal in the prevention and treatment of medical conditions in obese patients. It aids in cardiovascular health, reduces lipid levels, and promotes a healthy blood flow throughout the body. All of these factors can contribute to general health and disease management.
Underweight continues to be a risk factor for malnutrition. A malnourished organism develops lethargy and fatigue. Due to decreased dietary intake, the body may become deficient in vitamin D or calcium, resulting in osteoporosis. Insufficient nutrition hinders the growth and development of infants and adolescents. In addition, the immune system slows down, increasing the risk of contracting numerous diseases and complications during surgical procedures. A diet lacking in nutritional value disrupts the menstrual cycle in females. A less nutritious diet also contributes to increased hair loss and dental problems.
