Alzheimer’s dementia
Dementia is a syndrome that impairs mental, cognitive, and social abilities. Multiple diseases can cause dementia. Rather than a metabolic effect, weight loss in dementia is attributed to a decline in social capacity. They have difficulty articulating their wants and requirements. The body loses weight when its food and nutrient intake decreases. Additionally, behavioral disorders and repetitive actions require more energy. In addition to hypermetabolism, weight loss in dementia patients is also caused by hyperphagia. Dementia-related demise is accompanied by weight reduction.
