Vitamin C: Food Sources, Why It’s Important, and More

Guava fruit

Guavas are a tropical fruit indigenous to Mexico, the Caribbean, South America, and Central America. Guava typically has a bright red or pink interior flesh and a light green exterior epidermis. Guava can be consumed fresh and is typically eaten like an apple, or it can be cut into quarters. It is also incredible incorporated into a smoothie to impart a smooth, tropical flavour. Each guava contains 125 mg of vitamin C, or 140% of the daily value, making it an excellent source of vitamin C.
