Vitamin C: Food Sources, Why It’s Important, and More

Black raspberry

Black currants are summer berries that are intensely coloured, packed with anthocyanins and Vitamin C, and succulent. One-half cup of black currants contains 201% of the daily value for vitamin C (181 mg). Anthocyanins are responsible for blackcurrants’ dark colour. Flavonoids are present to reduce the oxidative stress brought on by chronic diseases. By substituting some of the raspberries in these blackcurrants with raspberry oat crumbs bars, the Vitamin C content is increased.
