Beef
Together with other red meats, beef is an excellent source of vitamin B12. A three-ounce serving of cooked beef contains approximately 2,3 mcg of vitamin B12, which is approximately 95% of the daily value for vitamin B12, along with 221 calories. In general, beef provides a sufficient quantity of vitamin B12, but the amount of vitamin B12 consumed through meat depends on which part of the animal is consumed. According to a study, one serving of beef liver contains 71 mcg of vitamin B12, which is approximately 30 times the daily value of a 3-ounce serving of sirloin, which contains only 1.4 mcg. In addition, beef is abundant in iron, which, along with vitamin B12, can promote the production of red blood cells.
