Reduced Vision
One of the symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency is blurred or impaired vision, which can occur when the deficiency persists without treatment. As a result, the nervous system sustains injury, which further impairs the optic nerve’s function and impairs vision. Damage to the optic nerve can impair the transmission of nerve signals from the eye to the brain, resulting in optic neuropathy. Although it sounds serious, the condition can often be reversed by supplementing with vitamin B12.
