Constipation

Constipation can occur in some women who have uterine fibroids. This is because the uterus sits directly in front the distal end colon, which controls bowel movement. The fibroids in the uterus’s last region can cause the colon to be compressed from the outside, causing severe constipation. Constipation can be caused by fibroids in the uterus in both indirect and direct ways. Women who take iron supplements to treat anemia caused by uterine fibroids may also experience constipation.
