Hysterectomy

The uterus is removed surgically during a hysterectomy. Doctors claim that the only way to cure fibroids is through hysterectomy. After removing the uterus, the fibroids will not return and the symptoms will also disappear. The procedure leaves the ovaries in place, and only removes the uterus. This allows a woman to enter menopause. Only if you suffer from large fibroids or heavy bleeding will your doctor recommend a hysterectomy.
