Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH) Agonists
Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonists are medications that you can take either through an injection or via a nasal spray. These medications shrink fibroids to smaller sizes. These medications can also be used before a fibroid surgery to help shrink the fibroid and make it easier to remove. The GnRH-agonists, however, are only a temporary fix and fibroids may return if you stop using them.
