TS inheritance
Tourette syndrome is a result of a combination of genetic variations and environmental factors. Genetically, boys are more likely to have TS than girls. Tourette syndrome can be inherited by a dominant gene. This means that parents are at a 50% chance of passing this gene to their child, and it could have life-threatening consequences. Tourette syndrome (TS), also known as tics, is caused by an abnormal breakdown of dopamine in the brain.
