Early Signs and Symptoms Thrombocytopenia
Most people with low platelet counts don’t show any symptoms. No symptoms are due to the fact that body produces more platelets than it needs. The body is not affected by a slight drop in platelets. When the platelet count falls to a low level, symptoms begin to appear. There will be no symptoms if the platelet count is above 50,000. Between 30,000 and 50,000 platelets, the bleeding may last longer, and bruising can be more noticeable. A level below 10,000 can cause severe bleeding along with other symptoms. Some of the most significant symptoms of thrombocytopenia are
Petechiae
On the skin, a person with thrombocytopenia will see small, brown, purple and red dots. These spots can also look like a rash. Small, round lesions or spots appear as a result internal bleeding. People with ITP have low blood counts, which causes purple and red dots to appear on their skin. Petechiae are caused by tiny capillaries breaking and leaking blood. Due to the lack of platelets in the body, clotting is not possible and the blood leaks into the skin. These spots are often associated with internal bleeding such as nose bleeds, blisters on the lips, or intradermal capillary blood. The spots are easily visible to the naked eye.
