Sun Mingming, a Chinese basketballer, is one of the tallest players to ever be drafted. He stands at 7 feet 9 inches. He began playing basketball at 15 years old and was drafted into several minor leagues in America. Since then, he has moved back to China and is now playing for the Beijing Ducks. Sun and his wife are also listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the tallest couple on the planet.
Emmanuel Yarbrough – 6’7″ and 882 lbs
Emmanuel Yarbrough was an American born, multi-talented, athlete. The Guinness Book of Records recognized him as the heaviest living athlete. Emmanuel was 6’7″ tall and weighed 882 lbs at the height of his sumo wrestler career. Emmanuel’s transition to MMA and Judo helped him lose some weight. Emmanuel played football briefly and also competed in German professional wrestling. He died in 2015.
