Paget’s bone disease
Paget’s disease affects the formation and remodelling of bone, resulting in its deterioration. It primarily affects the pelvis, causing it to develop out of shape. This may occasionally cause hip pain, but it is treatable with a class of drugs known as bisphosphonates. Bisphosphonates are used to treat bone diseases such as Paget’s disease and osteoporosis, as well as bone loss.
