pregnancy and painful hips
If you are experiencing hip discomfort during your pregnancy, you are not alone. During pregnancy, approximately 20% of women experience hip discomfort. The discomfort could be located in the back, the side of the hip, or the normal pelvic girdle region. It may feel sharp or dull and may appear abruptly or progressively. Hip pain may occur at any time during pregnancy, but it is more likely to occur in the third and second trimesters as your body prepares for labour and the baby develops.
However, you need not be concerned about such pain, as there are multiple methods to cope with it. Consider seeing a physical therapist or chiropractor for an evaluation if your pain is significantly debilitating or severe. Ensure that they are aware that you are expectant.
