Other diseases, including diabetes, can also cause gastric cancer. Due to diabetes, patients become more susceptible to H. Pylori infection in the stomach, and the recovery from surgery becomes more challenging. In addition, treatments such as chemotherapy and targeted therapy have adverse effects on the normal functioning of the heart, leading to elevated blood pressure and hypertension. Combined associated morbidity also decreases the survival rate as a result of these conditions.
