Tumors of the Gastrointestinal Stroma
This is an uncommon form of gastrointestinal cancer. The abnormal development of Cajal interstitial cells in the digestive tract is referred to as gastrointestinal stromal tumors. Occasionally, there are only small tumors that do not cause any problems, whereas others can develop rapidly and cause vomiting with blood, which lowers the body’s blood level and leads to fatigue. These are caused primarily by genetic mutations.
