Symptoms, Causes, Stages, Diagnosis, Survival Rate, Cure, and Treatment for Stomach Cancer

Survival Rates among Stomach Cancer

Survival rates are low and treatment for stomach cancer is exceedingly challenging. The third leading cause of cancer-related fatalities is stomach cancer. Certainly, treatment has become simpler as technology and knowledge have advanced, but nothing has yet been discovered that guarantees a complete recovery from such malignancies.

The rates of gastric cancer survival depend on the following variables:

Age

Age not only increases the likelihood of developing cancer, but also makes recovery more difficult. Age diminishes the body’s immune system, making it exceedingly difficult to tolerate cancer-removal treatments. Often, certain treatments, such as surgery, are not administered because the patient is elderly. The survival rate declines by five years for every decade of age. Doctors have concluded that the prevalence of H. Pylori infection in children has decreased as a result of research and advancements in medicine. Due to late diagnosis, the overall survival rate for this malignancy is 23%.
