Biopsy
A biopsy is the process of removing a sample of aberrant tissue from the body in order to identify cancerous cells and other abnormalities. A biopsy is the most efficient and accurate method for diagnosing cancer in any part of the body. The majority of the biopsy is conducted during endoscopy. A pathologist then examines the sample under a microscope. The patient is administered anesthesia to prevent pain and difficulty during the procedure. Additionally, samples can be obtained from regions with a higher risk of cancer invasion. Common adverse effects of biopsies include:
