Common Causes Of Stomach Cancer
There are many known causes and risk factors for stomach cancer. These are some of the prevalent ones:
Age
Age is an unavoidable cancer risk factor. As we get older, our body ceases to function correctly. Additionally, the body becomes susceptible to additional diseases, such as diabetes, which increases the risk of gastric cancer. Most cases of stomach cancer are diagnosed in geriatric patients. Sixty percent of those diagnosed with gastritis are over the age of 65. With increasing age, the capacity for cellular division and regeneration is compromised. This results in a buildup of dead cells and a shortage of new cells to replace them. Changes in hormones, organ secretion, and a weakened immune system can also be contributing factors. Cancer treatments are simple to administer to younger patients, and their recovery rate is also higher.
