Muscle aches and symptoms
Herpes genitalis can cause inflammation of the nerves surrounding the lower spinal cord, which leads to muscle aches and discomfort. Muscle pain and discomfort during the initial outbreak of genital herpes infection can result in several days of fatigue. Herpes simplex virus infection may result in the inability to move, improper walking, loss of muscle strength, and loss of sensation in the legs. Herpes infection can produce headaches and body aches in the majority of patients due to swollen lymph nodes and glands.
