Add Moisture
Keep your sinus infection hydrated to reduce pressure.
Here are some tips on how to prevent sinusitis:
- Use natural saline nose sprays during the day, and just before bedtime. You can get these at your local drugstore. They are useful for breaking up obstructions several times a day. You may become addicted to sprays containing Oxymetazoline.
- Sleep with a humidifier on in your bedroom at night to help relieve nasal congestion, which is most common during the night.
- Steam exposure can cause sinus infections. Regularly take hot showers and breathe the moist air. You can also lean a bowl of boiling water over for about 10 minutes. Cover your head with a towel and then the bowl. Keep your nose about 10 inches above the water.
