5. Dandelion Root
These “weeds” may drive you insane when they overtake your lawn, however these plants have many benefits. Dandelion roots are diuretics that help to cleanse your kidneys and liver. It is used to treat anemia, jaundice and acne as well as liver and kidney disorders. Dandelion roots are also good for preventing irritation of the urinary system.
Most people prepare a tea using the crushed roots to consume dandelion. The roots should be simmered in water for about 15 minutes, then strained and drunk. Dandelions leaves can be eaten raw or cooked. Dandelions are available for free in the summer because they grow everywhere and very quickly.
