Raised, soft, spongy inflamed area
The infected area is soft and inflamed at the start of the infection. The sores may be moist at first, but with time, they become dry and scaly.
A circular red ring. A circular red ring is another common symptom. On the skin, a circular rash that is itchy appears. The rash looks like a bull’s eye. This helps to distinguish ringworms from other skin rashes, such as eczema. Eczema looks similar to ringworm. The red circular patch is present in all types of ringworms. The patches may grow in size or appear on more parts of the body.
