Family history of Embolisms
Individuals who have a family history of pulmonary or other embolisms are at a two-fold higher risk of developing this condition in the future. People with a family history of pulmonary embolism or any type of embolism have a four-fold higher risk to develop the chronic condition. According to the studies, pulmonary embolism may run in families because some people are more prone to forming blood clots.
