Hyper-Coagulability
Hyper-coagulability refers to the medical condition where a person is more likely than others to have their blood clot. Doctors say that the cause of hyper-coagulability is different for every individual. Some of the factors include smoking, a recent injury, pregnancy or side effects from certain medications. Some patients can develop pulmonary embolisms from hyper-coagulable conditions and genetic blood clotting diseases, such as Factor V Leiden and elevated homocysteine levels.
