Warming sensation in the legs and arms
Blood clots can form due to a pulmonary embolism in the legs, and sometimes in the arms. These blood clots can cause swelling in the legs and a feeling of warmth when touched. Due to blood clots, patients with pulmonary embolism may experience cramping and burning pain in the arms and legs. Skin feels warm and sore when touched. The soreness starts in the calf area and feels like a cramp. In patients with pulmonary embolism, a warm sensation may follow the vein’s course.
