Common causes of plantar fasciitis
Heel spurs are not the usual cause of plantar fasciitis. In the past, medical scientists believed that heel spurs caused pain for people with plantar fasciitis. This is not true. Plantar fasciitis is often caused by overuse of the plantar ligament or stretching it too much. But, even small tears in the fascia can cause pain. Plant fasciitis can be caused by the foot structure of a human. The term “fasciitis”, which is inflammation of the ligament of the plantar fascia, refers to soles of feet.
Every year, almost two million people who suffer from plantar fasciitis receive treatment. This is the most common cause of foot or heel pain in the world. Plantar fasciitis, especially in runners, is common among athletes. Pushing off with the foot repeatedly can tear or injure the fascia tissue located at the bottom of the foot. Plantar fasciitis is more common in active women and men aged between 40 and 70. The condition is more prevalent in women than men.
Plantar fasciitis is common in pregnant women, especially after the third trimester. Plantar fascia is designed to absorb high stresses and strains that are placed on the feet in everyday life. Sometimes, however, too much stress tears or damages fascia tissues. Plantar fasciitis is a result from the body’s natural reaction to injury, which is inflammation. This causes heel pain and stiffness. Excessive pressure and stretching can damage, tear or inflame the plantar fascia tissue. Plantar fasciitis is a condition that has no known cause. Plantar fasciitis can be caused by a number of factors.
Athletes
Plantar fasciitis is the most common foot injury among athletes. This occurs more frequently in those who run as part of their sport. Plantar fasciitis occurs so often in runners that it is known as “Runner’s Heel”. A plantar fasciitis injury is a painful condition that affects the arch and heel of the foot. This can cause an athlete to have difficulty practicing or performing. Plantar fasciitis is a common injury among athletes who jump or run frequently. This is due to the constant wear of the plantar ligaments. Plantar fasciitis is more common in athletes such as runners, baseball players, basketball players and soccer players.
